Transcriptome Changes in Fat Tissue



The average variation pattern of gene expression in Fat tissue over time after burn injuries is shown in the heatmap below. Each row of the heatmap shows the average expression level of one significant gene over the time. The left-most column shows the control level, which serves as a reference. The rest columns are the average expression levels among all the burned patients over 5 time bins, 0-4 days, 4-10 days, 10-21 days, 21-60 days and after 60 days, respectively.

3176 genes (4994 probesets) differentially expressed between patients and controls are grouped into 6 clusters by K-mean clustering algorithm. Among these significant genes, 2181 genes (3575 probesets) are up-regulated and 1012 genes (1419 probesets) are down-regulated.
