Association of age and survivability in burn patients

Question


This study is to identify genes that might correlate with the survival different in different age groups. Since microarray data from different age groups are treated as a time course, this is a cross-sectional analysis (as opposed to longtidual analysis, in which time course is from the same patient). This is an one-way ANOVA problem with survival as the factor of interest.

Data


We did analysis on early time stage data (0-9 days) and middle stage data (10-49 days) separately. The early stage data set includes 118 burn patients and the late stage set includes 90 burn patients. The number of patients in each category is summarized in the table.  6491 probe sets were used (CV>0.5 and median signal>50).
